PANEL: DATABASE

Where does your app’s data live? By default, on the phone itself. When you need user accounts or data shared between users, this panel connects the app to a real backend — your own.

LOCAL STORAGEThe default: data is saved on the device the app runs on. Simple and free, but it is per-phone — deleting the app deletes the data, and two users can never see each other’s entries.
SUPABASEA popular backend-as-a-service (supabase.com, generous free tier). One Supabase project gives you a real PostgreSQL database, user accounts (sign up/sign in), and file storage — the things an app with real users needs. You create the project on their site; Sorvel wires your app to it.
PROJECT URL & ANON KEYThe two values the panel asks for, both from Supabase → Settings → API. The URL identifies your project; the anon key is the public key — safe to ship inside an app, because what it can touch is limited by database rules.
SERVICE KEYSupabase’s admin key. It bypasses all rules — which is why the panel never asks for it and you should never paste it anywhere client-side.
