PANEL: SHARE A PREVIEW
A read-only link so someone else can try what you built — a client, a friend, a co-founder. They open it and tap around; a screenshot cannot do that.
NOT AN INVITEWhoever opens the link creates no account, takes no seat and cannot change anything. They can leave a comment, and the comments come back into this panel.
EXPIRES, AND CAN BE CLOSEDYou choose how many days the link lives when you create it, and you can close it earlier from the list at any time.
SHOWN ONCEThe link is displayed once, at creation — only its fingerprint is stored afterwards, so there is no way to show it again. Copy it before you leave the panel.
REACHABILITYThe link works while Sorvel can be reached from the internet. When you are running the desktop app the preview lives on your own machine, so a shared link only opens for you.
PUBLISHA permanent address instead of a timed link: pick a name and the app lives at
https://<name>.<preview host>/ until you unpublish it. One published address per project — publishing again under another name replaces it. On the desktop app, where there is no preview host, publishing gives a non-expiring link shown once, and the name is kept for when hosting is available.CUSTOM DOMAINWhere the installation allows it, the Publish section also takes a name you own, such as
app.example.com. At your domain provider you add one CNAME record pointing that name at the preview host — nothing else works: the preview host is where the certificate is issued and the request is routed, and an A record to a server address would bypass both. Sorvel checks the record when you connect and again on “Check again”; once it resolves, the certificate is issued automatically (the Publish section shows its status) and the published build is served there, exactly as at the Sorvel address. A bare domain such as example.com cannot carry a CNAME at most providers: connect www. or app.instead. Unpublish takes the domain down too: the name stays connected and goes live again with the next publish. No domain yet? Sorvel does not sell them: the panel points at Cloudflare Registrar (domains.cloudflare.com), which sells at cost and keeps the DNS at Cloudflare. There the record goes under DNS → Records as a CNAME with Proxy status “DNS only” (grey cloud): a proxied record hides the CNAME from the check. Use a subdomain (app. or www.). .tr names are not sold there; a Turkish registrar and the same CNAME do the job.
